Getting better and better informed over time, they have created specialised internet sites, real sex-guides in which it is stated in detail, country by country, city by city, nice brothels, bars where girls are found, the badge number of the “nice price girl”, with details of her looks, as well as the e-mail address to the safe and discrete motorcycle taxi who doesn’t work for the NGOs fighting against the trafficking and prostitution of minors.

 

 

It is even worse, since there are forums where the sad stories of travelling forty-somethings, in places where the girls are just 5 dollars for a quickie, and where the beer is 2 dollars a bottle, are retold. It’s a dirty word where the individual doesn’t carry any cultural or touristic interest.

In the public forums, the average age of the prostitutes seem to be 19-24 years old, but in the private forums (hidden from critical eyes), their age fall well under the khmer legal age, which is 16 years old.


The private forums are safeguarded and invisible to the passer-by. However, any surfer is invited to become member by one mouse click and get access to all the pages and secret forums where human rights and children’s rights are only a joke.


Because really, in these forums the word is spread, mainly about young girls sold and kept, most of the time against their own will, in brothels where they are prisoners. They are beaten, raped and then often resold if they refuse to work as prostitutes. Most of them come from the countryside, where they have been kidnapped, or sold by their own family, who “thought” that they would find honourable work in the city, and it is there, in the villages, that our NGO functions.
