Child Sex Tourism ?
... is the commercial sexual exploitation of children by persons who travel from their own country to another usually less developed country to engage in sexual acts with children.
Child sex tourists come from all walks of life: they may be married or single, male or female, wealthy tourists or budget travellers. They may be paedophiles travelling specifically to exploit children or travellers who do not plan their trip with the intention of abusing a child.

Side Story
Who sexually exploits children?

Popular usage of the term "paedophilia" classifies all persons engaging in sex with a child as a paedophile. Paedophilia, a sexual preference for prepubescent children, is not a crime in itself. It is the act of sex with a child that is a crime. Put simply, a paedophile is a person with a sexual love for children. However, a person who exploits or abuses a child sexually is not necessarily a paedophile, and a paedophile may not necessarily act out his fantasies by engaging in sexual activities with a child.

ImageSala Damnak Loug is a very small school, and it is not working well. There are officially 64 pupils enrolled in the school, but our surprise visits have shown us that there are in reality only about 30 pupils attending class, the rest of the children probably spending more time in the rice fields that on the school bench. Hence, this school looks like it has been waiting for us.
We will try to revitalise the school, but also to motivate the teachers, who seem to have accepted the worsening situation.

ImageFirst of all, we will probably need to build lavatories for the children and the teachers (the cost is approximately 1400$). The old ones are in an indescribable shape, and just not useable. We are also going to investigate whether there is a possibility of having the old ones repaired; you can see the pictures of them on the website. I am worried that this school is going to be a real mouth piece for us, because the situation seems to have been going on for a long time; we are going to have to work with whatever means we have available, which is, as you know, not a great deal.
