 The site www.info-avec.org in English will be launched very soon. This is thanks to long hours of work performed by Charlotta, one of our volunteers in Europe, who work amiably for our cause. Charlotta, who is a Swedish citizen, will be our responsible for the English language section of AVEC, and she will also take care of the numerous demands that reach us from all corners of the world. She will also be responsible for all our relations with international organisations. As all texts are now translated, it is up to our president, Partik Alain Roux, to recreate to site as a whole in English. It seems like a small task, but it is quite difficult, and the problems will appear at the end of the process, as the Internet connections in Cambodia suffer from a lack of speed which is almost unimaginable in the European countries where high speed broadbands are standard. As a matter of fact, for the transfer of the French language site to the new domain, we needed no less than 7 hours.
 The launch of the English language site will be an interesting experience for us, since we will be able to touch a considerable number of people. We have had, for the moment, more than 35000 visits to our French language site since February 2006. The site is entirely paid by a prestigious company, AUTODESK. The company is one of the world leaders in the Software business. We have also been able, thanks to AUTODESK, to give bicycles to those of the Dâksoso school children who have more than a three hours’ walk a day in order to get to school. Moreover, AUTODESK does not ask us for any form of publicity in exchange, which is worth mentioning. |
